Chemical  Analysis of  Water:

 The Analytical laboratory of the Director of Geology & Mining, Assam are doing Chemical Analysis of the Ground Water, Reservoirs and other bodies of water for drilling purpose.

   The following radicals are mentioned which are Chemically Analysis in the analytical laboratory of the Directorate of Geology & Mining, Assam.

Permissible range

  • Total Iron - 0.3 mgs/L                     to 1.0 mgs/L
  • Floride -  0 mgs/L                           to 1.5 mgs/L
  • Arsenic  – 0.0 mgs/L                       to 0.01mgs/L
  • Chloride – 200 mgs/L                      to 250 mgs/L
  • Calcium 75 mgs/L                           to 200 mgs/L
  • Magnesium 30 mgs/L                      to 150 mgs/L
  • Sulfate 150 mgs / L                         to 400mgs/L
  • PH 0                                               to 8.5mgs/L
  • D.S ---- Permissible limit 500mgs/L for drinking water. But excessive limit as 1500 mgs/L and 1000 mgs/L only are satisfactory for domestic nest.
